When should clinicians suspect feline leishmaniosis?

Dr Manolis Saridomichelakis graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1992), where he also completed his PhD Thesis on canine atopic dermatitis (1995-1998). From 2002 to 2006 he joined the faculty as a Lecturer and then he moved to the School of Veterinary Science, University of Thessaly, where he is currently Professor of Companion Animal Medicine. In 2011 he became board-certified Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology. He has published 191 review, clinical and research articles in scientific journals or full Congress Proceedings, he is the author or co-author of 9 national and 3 international book chapters, and he has presented lectures in more than 150 national and international scientific events. His main research interests include leishmaniosis and allergic skin diseases of dogs and cats.
